Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Embed with business teams to map workflows, understand pain points, and identify opportunities where AI or automation can create measurable value.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into technical plans covering architecture, data flows, integrations, permissions, success criteria, and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Prototype and build reliable AI systems end to end, including agents, tool use, orchestration, prompt and context engineering, state, memory, structured outputs, APIs, enterprise integrations, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Engineer for reliability, security, and operational performance by addressing failures, hallucinations, retries, permissions, latency, cost, and graceful degradation.
- Build evaluations and observability, including success criteria, eval sets, tracing, logging, monitoring, quality measurement, cost tracking, and drift detection.
- Partner with technical and business leaders, users, and the AI Enablement team through deployment, adoption, iteration, change management, and handoff.
- Create reusable components, patterns, tooling, documentation, and lessons that accelerate future AI solutions across Crunchyroll.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant recent experience building and shipping applied AI or LLM-powered systems in production.
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, and deploying AI systems that interact with APIs, enterprise systems, data sources, or external tools to complete multi-step tasks.
- Strong Python skills and deep experience with tool and function calling, orchestration, prompt and context engineering, structured outputs, RAG, model APIs, state management, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience taking AI solutions from ambiguous problem definition through architecture, prototyping, implementation, deployment, and iteration.
- Experience engineering AI systems for reliability, including failure handling, human-in-the-loop controls, guardrails, permissions, monitoring, cost management, and latency management.
- Strong judgment in choosing among agents, RAG, classical ML, automation, and conventional software, with the ability to avoid unnecessary complexity.
- Ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders, translate business needs into practical technical solutions, and operate effectively in ambiguous early-stage environments.
- Preferred experience includes forward-deployed or solutions engineering, agentic and multi-agent systems, APIs, MCP, event-driven systems, enterprise SaaS integrations, internal platforms or SDKs, and LLM evaluation and observability.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Datadog, LangSmith, Langfuse, workflow analysis, AI governance, security and privacy review, and media, entertainment, streaming, consumer technology, or complex operational workflows.
