Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and execute Java-based automated test frameworks and suites using Selenium and RestAssured.
- Create and execute automated UI, API, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests, alongside manual testing where required.
- Review requirements and acceptance criteria, create Gherkin test cases, and maintain traceability across test evidence, defects, and execution results.
- Collaborate with software engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to improve automated coverage and embed shift-left quality practices.
- Execute and maintain automated tests within CI/CD pipelines and support test automation delivery processes.
- Investigate, triage, and track defects through resolution while supporting root cause analysis.
- Prepare and manage test data and validate data across multiple systems and databases.
- Maintain test plans, test cases, scripts, reports, documentation, and quality evidence.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, solution discussions, peer reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support non-functional testing, including performance and security validation, when required.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience as a QA Engineer with hands-on Java test automation experience.
- Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, and RestAssured for UI and API testing.
- Knowledge of software testing principles, the SDLC, Agile development, and quality engineering practices.
- Experience with functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with test design, requirements analysis, test planning, execution, defect management, and traceability.
- Experience creating Gherkin test cases using Given/When/Then structure.
- Experience producing test plans, cases, scripts, reports, documentation, and evidence.
- Experience working in Agile squads with Product Managers, Software Engineers, SMEs, and QA colleagues.
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and software quality management tools.
- Good SQL skills and experience extracting and validating data from databases.
- ISTQB Foundation Certification or an equivalent software testing qualification.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Desirable experience includes regulated healthcare or life sciences environments, AWS, cloud-native distributed systems, Playwright, Cypress, PACT, Python automation, WireMock, BrowserStack, Jira Xray, Axe Core, OWASP ZAP, accessibility testing, FHIR, performance testing, and security testing.
