Responsibilities
- Improve the full lifecycle of services from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement.
- Analyze ITSM activities and provide development teams with feedback on operational gaps and resiliency concerns.
- Support pre-launch activities including system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
- Monitor availability, latency, and overall system health for live services.
- Scale systems through automation and drive changes that improve reliability and delivery velocity.
- Support CI/CD promotion pipelines through validation and operational gating while advancing DevOps automation practices.
- Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and blameless postmortems.
- Connect issues across the technology stack during production events to optimize mean time to recovery.
- Collaborate with global teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
- Share knowledge and mentor junior resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding, such as physics or mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
- Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
- Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build relationships.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, ownership, decision-making, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Preferred experience with one or more of C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef.
- Experience designing and implementing efficient CI/CD flows from development to production with high quality and minimal manual effort.
