Responsibilities
- Design and execute an AI/ML and GenAI platform strategy aligned with enterprise architecture, security, and risk standards.
- Own the engineering and lifecycle management of AI/ML platform components, including workspaces, training and inference patterns, model registries, feature storage, experiment tracking, prompt management, RAG enablement, and reusable templates.
- Establish DevSecOps practices using GitLab source control, build automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deploy cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform and define standards for networking, identity, secrets, encryption, logging, and configuration management.
- Implement security controls, AI/ML governance, model and prompt lifecycle controls, data lineage, approvals, risk assessments, and operational readiness practices.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for platform performance, reliability, scalability, cost, and security challenges.
- Build platform reliability through automation and observability, including monitoring, logging, tracing, and SLOs.
- Enable self-service platform consumption through standardized APIs, reusable pipelines, templates, and documentation.
- Guide engineers through designs, reviews, delivery, and mentoring across distributed teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in AI and data.
- Strong knowledge of AI models, data architectures, and analytics methodologies.
- Preferred master’s degree and/or 8+ years of progressive experience delivering complex cloud platforms, preferably for AI/ML or analytics workloads at enterprise scale.
- Experience building AI/ML platforms or MLOps capabilities, including training and inference automation, model packaging and deployment, model registries, experiment tracking, and operational monitoring.
- Experience with Kubernetes or EKS, API enablement, and modern Python ML tooling.
- Deep AWS expertise and moderate experience with Azure services and deployment patterns.
- Hands-on DevOps/DevSecOps experience building GitLab CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scanning, artifact management, and controlled deployments.
- Strong Terraform infrastructure-as-code experience, including building reusable modules and enforcing standards and guardrails.
- Relevant cloud or security certifications are preferred, including AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Administrator, Azure Architect, or Terraform certification.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills for engineers across onshore and offshore teams.
