Base Salary
$168k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build petabyte-scale data preprocessing pipelines across text, code, structured data, and diverse modalities.
- Develop data quality frameworks for deduplication, filtering, toxicity detection, PII removal, and content classification.
- Optimize distributed pipeline throughput, latency, and cost efficiency with automated benchmarking.
- Implement tokenization, normalization, formatting, and schema standardization transformations.
- Collaborate with scientists to translate data requirements into engineering solutions.
- Own end-to-end architecture, deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Establish practices for data lineage, versioning, reproducibility, and training-data auditability.
- Drive technical decisions and roadmap influence through design documents, code reviews, and mentorship.
- Mentor junior engineers and raise the team's technical bar.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with one or more software programming languages.
- At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing reliable, scalable systems.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Preferred: 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
