Responsibilities
- Implement and test database features involving query compilation, compiler design, query execution, and performance.
- Contribute to database query engine, FoundationDB key-value store, Unistore, large-scale data processing, distributed systems, or software frameworks for stability and performance testing.
- Develop reliable and trustworthy enterprise-grade software and services.
- Work with database internals, transaction processing, distributed systems, data warehouse design, and cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with managers, mentors, and engineering teams on software used by customers.
Requirements
- Be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university program during the internship.
- Be a third- or fourth-year undergraduate, master's, or PhD student in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Complete or have knowledge of algorithms, data structures, software engineering, and operating systems coursework.
- Demonstrate excellent programming skills in C++ or Java.
- Have systems programming skills, including multithreading and concurrency, and knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Have experience working with big data engineering or processing.
- Preferred qualifications include knowledge of cloud computing, compilers, database systems, distributed systems, functional programming languages, networking, C++ or Java, research or publications in databases or distributed systems, and open-source contributions.
- Demonstrate problem-solving ability, willingness to learn quickly, teamwork, and passion for technology.
