Responsibilities
- Build reliable, trustworthy enterprise software and services for Snowflake’s global data platform.
- Work on core engineering projects involving large-scale data processing, distributed systems, database technology, or SaaS infrastructure.
- Develop infrastructure automation, engineering productivity tooling, cloud deployment systems, and multi-cloud release automation.
- Contribute to software frameworks for functional, system, performance, production, stability, and quality testing.
- Work with security engineering areas such as encryption, authentication, SSO, OAuth, access control, identity and access management, and network security.
- Develop systems software using concepts such as multithreading and concurrency.
- Collaborate with managers, mentors, and engineering teams while delivering meaningful contributions to customer-used systems.
Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university program during the internship.
- Desired candidates are third- or fourth-year undergraduates, master's students, or PhD students in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Required coursework includes algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, and operating systems.
- Demonstrated programming ability in Java, C++, Go, and/or Python is required.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, systems programming, multithreading, and concurrency is expected.
- Preferred knowledge includes cloud computing, database systems, distributed systems, cryptography, authentication, and networking.
- Experience with Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, or Docker is a plus.
- Research or publications in security, distributed systems, or systems programming and open-source contributions are bonus qualifications.
- Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving ability, rapid learning, teamwork, and passion for technology.
