Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve numerical models and their associated code.
- Investigate mathematical, algorithmic, and software engineering problems through to resolution.
- Own and break down large or technically challenging work items and make implementation decisions.
- Work effectively within an established and partially legacy codebase while introducing thoughtful technical improvements.
- Demonstrate the potential to lead technical projects.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and technical mentoring to less experienced developers where appropriate.
Requirements
- Strong mathematical background.
- Programming ability in at least one relevant language, such as C, C++, or C#.
- Experience with numerical modelling or mathematical software development.
- Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with debugging tools is desired.
- Experience with source control systems and continuous integration/continuous development, including Git and Azure DevOps, is desired.
- A postgraduate qualification such as an MSc or PhD, or equivalent experience, is advantageous.
