$127k - $183k/yr
Responsibilities
- Execute and expand the finance automation roadmap across accounting, AP, tax, reconciliations, accruals, and close processes.
- Move the team toward CLI-driven and agentic development instead of manual point-and-click configuration.
- Build automations and AI agents for workflows such as inbox triage, invoice coding, reconciliations, flux analysis, accruals, and tax operations.
- Implement close-management tooling, including its NetSuite and data warehouse connections, with the reliability needed for an agentic close.
- Configure and extend NetSuite, Zip, and the finance integration layer, determining where logic should reside across the ERP, integration layer, and code.
- Work with accountants to understand workflows, translate them into automation, and build trust in deployed systems.
- Make build-versus-buy decisions and collaborate with technology vendors.
- Improve reliability, monitoring, auditability, design-review practices, and operational standards for financial systems.
- Provide technical leadership through design reviews, coding practices, interviewing, and helping grow team members.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience.
- Strong understanding of controllership operations, including accounting, AP, tax, and the close.
- Hands-on experience building or experimenting with automations and AI agents, with strong curiosity about their practical uses.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar tools and systems quickly and work hands-on with configuration, integrations, scripting, and agent building.
- Ability to define architecture and roadmaps, make technical decisions, and operate without an established playbook.
- Ability to explain complex technical and financial concepts clearly to accountants, engineers, and CFO-level stakeholders.
- Comfort operating as a senior individual contributor who sets direction and leads through influence rather than headcount.
- Preferred: finance, accounting, or consulting experience combined with actually building automation.
- Preferred: production experience with AI agents and LLM-based workflows, including guardrails and monitoring.
- Preferred: experience with accounting close and finance automation tooling and their integrations.
