Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, and implement complex software enhancements and solutions.
- Provide thought leadership for product architecture and mentor and coach senior engineers.
- Lead problem solving for projects and major project phases involving advanced software technical issues.
- Develop software using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, and related engineering languages.
- Write unit and automation tests, improve test methodologies, and uphold quality standards.
- Troubleshoot large, mission-critical client implementations.
- Lead Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and Scrum practices.
- Plan and coordinate cross-team activities and contribute to code reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign education equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical field is required; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 13 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience.
- Experience with Spring Boot microservices and deploying services in cloud environments.
- Understanding of microservice architectures and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Kafka and message-based systems.
- Deep expertise in object-oriented programming, relational databases, low-latency and high-performance systems, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools is expected.
- At least 5 years of experience working with an Agile development methodology.
- At least 6 years of financial-services software development experience in areas such as portfolio management, trading, compliance, post-trade, IBOR, or wealth management is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems involving multi-tiered, high-performance database applications.
- Strong software design, communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
