Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the Apple Data Platform Compute SRE team.
- Manage and improve the reliability of infrastructure and services at scale across bare-metal and cloud environments.
- Support multi-year infrastructure migrations for Apple properties.
- Develop automation and tooling, lead code reviews, and manage incidents and operational processes for 24x7 operations.
- Partner with SRE, software engineering, and product engineering teams on infrastructure architecture and delivery.
- Define technical roadmaps and drive cross-functional alignment on infrastructure standards and best practices.
- Perform scale testing, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and troubleshooting of infrastructure and data-platform technologies.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering managing infrastructure and services at scale.
- 5+ years of experience in management or technical leadership roles.
- 5+ years of experience running applications and managing Kubernetes clusters on Alibaba Cloud, AWS, or GCP.
- Proven history of end-to-end project management and delivery.
- Demonstrable programming skills for developing software and tools and leading code reviews.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux, networking, and containers.
- Preferred: 15+ years of SRE or related experience managing infrastructure at scale.
- Preferred: proficiency with architecture, deployment, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of Spark, Flink, Iceberg, Trino, and/or Druid.
- Preferred: experience with scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
- Preferred: ability to define technical roadmaps and drive cross-functional alignment on architectural standards and best practices.
