Base Salary
$231k - $323k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead computer vision development and serve as the subject matter expert across multiple programs.
- Establish technical direction for vision-based navigation algorithms, software baselines, performance analysis, modeling, validation, and testing.
- Provide technical oversight for integrating computer vision software into vehicle production baselines.
- Lead automation, tooling, process improvements, and validation and verification strategies across the engineering organization.
- Guide complex technical decisions involving make-versus-buy, build-versus-reuse, and technology roadmaps.
- Represent the organization in technical reviews and cross-program technical exchanges.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and lead technical teams across organizational boundaries.
- Support the full integrated GN&C lifecycle from subsystem definition through mission operations.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace, Robotics, or a related Engineering field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience in computer vision application development.
- Recognized technical expertise in robotics and computer vision applications with experience leading complex system implementations.
- Deep experience with optics, camera hardware, and calibration, including trade studies and technical decisions.
- Understanding of synthetic scene generation and radiometry.
- Ability to set technical direction, influence stakeholders, communicate complex concepts to executive leadership, and build consensus.
- Preferred experience includes spacecraft rendezvous, proximity operations and docking, terrain-relative optical navigation, spacecraft navigation, orbital guidance, and propulsive trajectory and attitude control.
- Preferred experience includes real-time embedded spacecraft or launch-vehicle software development in C++ or Rust.
- Preferred experience with NASA NPR 7150.2D, FAA DO-178C, Trick, JEOD, cFS, GitLab, Docker, software lifecycle leadership, requirements flow-down, and avionics hardware and software integration.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.
