Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve the RAIN RFID data integration software stack from embedded readers through cloud services.
- Architect real-time, high-throughput stream-processing pipelines for large volumes of RFID data.
- Develop algorithms that extract actionable insights from raw RFID data.
- Build distributed systems that scale from a single reader to global deployments.
- Integrate machine learning models and inference frameworks with platform software.
- Collaborate across tagged-item, embedded, platform, and cloud engineering teams.
- Define technical vision and drive scalable, reliable platform architecture.
- Mentor engineers, advocate for software development best practices, and promote an inclusive team culture.
- Deliver well-tested, high-quality code across multiple release cycles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in ECE, computer science, or a related field, with 15+ years of software development experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in embedded development with C, C++, and/or Rust.
- Proficiency with Python, C#/.NET, or Go.
- Proficiency with embedded Linux platforms such as Yocto and Zephyr or similar systems.
- Proficiency implementing machine learning algorithms and using LiteRT, CUDA, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
- Experience working with machine learning and cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience designing, implementing, and deploying scalable, reliable distributed systems.
- Experience with RFID, IoT, Bluetooth, or other embedded end-user technologies.
- Familiarity with NATS, MQTT, Kafka, AMQP, or ZeroMQ.
- Ability to create modular designs with strong test coverage.
