Base Salary
$200k - $271k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define interface specifications, data flows, communication architectures, embedded architectures, ICDs, and system design specifications for Block 30.
- Ensure system designs meet DO-178C, DO-254, and FAA certification requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Lead architectural trade studies balancing power, weight, thermal, latency, and safety constraints.
- Define prototyping strategies and reusable embedded platform patterns for next-generation drone programs.
- Develop embedded technology roadmaps aligned with Prime Air’s product and certification strategy.
- Lead system-level design reviews and author technical strategy documents, ADRs, and ICDs.
- Align engineering teams on embedded architecture standards and integration strategies.
- Collaborate with external partners, semiconductor vendors, and research institutions.
- Mentor senior engineers and software development managers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Deep expertise in embedded systems and experience working across hardware, firmware, and flight software.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience designing and building large-scale systems in a multi-tiered, distributed environment is preferred.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture is preferred.
