Responsibilities
- Implement and deploy machine learning models and algorithms for open-world object manipulation using physical robotic hardware.
- Drive manipulation-learning data strategy, including collection, curation, annotation, and synthetic/real data mixtures.
- Lead development from simulation prototyping through model transfer, fine-tuning, and robust deployment on robots.
- Diagnose performance bottlenecks across classical vision, calibration, geometry, sensor fusion, models, and data, prioritizing reliability improvements.
- Contribute to architectural excellence through technical reviews, organizational influence, and mentoring.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience shipping machine learning models on robotic systems in production environments.
- Expertise with CNNs, transformers, and VLAs.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and PyTorch, including real-time robotic software stacks.
- Experience with ML data collection, annotation, and synthetic data generation.
- Familiarity with 6D pose estimation, camera calibration and extrinsics, point cloud processing, and visual servoing.
- Experience calibrating and tuning high-DOF robotic manipulators during hardware bring-up.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of relevant robotic manipulation or complex motion-control experience, or 5+ years with a PhD.
- Demonstrated success taking complex algorithms from conception to deployment on physical hardware.
- Preferred qualifications include distributed training, MLOps, VR or haptic interfaces, retargeting algorithms, physics-based simulation, and logistics automation.
