Base Salary

$100k - $135k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, debug, and deliver embedded software for bare-metal, real-time operating system, and embedded Linux-based avionics systems.
  • Own software contributions and codebases across multiple projects while collaborating on shared codebases.
  • Perform design trade studies, select software architectures, scope development tasks, and implement embedded software for space avionics.
  • Develop software requirements and product architectures with system and electrical hardware engineers.
  • Assist with hardware bring-up activities and deliver production-level software packages and documentation.
  • Work with project managers and engineering teams to deliver software within project budgets and schedules.
  • Develop tools and documentation supporting embedded system usage and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
  • At least four years of embedded software development, testing, and debugging experience is required, or two years with a master’s degree.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Python or similar scripting languages is required.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems and development environments is required.
  • Experience with the full software development life cycle for complex systems is required.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Git is required.
  • Preferred experience includes embedded Linux drivers, modules, applications, and custom board support packages, especially with Yocto.
  • Preferred experience includes bash or shell scripting, microcontrollers, chipsets, FPGA programmable logic with VHDL, real-time deterministic systems, robotic control systems, Altium, and electrical troubleshooting equipment.
  • Preferred experience includes FDIR, fault-tolerant designs, space hardware and systems, spacecraft instrumentation, communication or I/O protocols, Git, Docker, software integration, and unit testing.
  • Applicants must be a U.S. Person and eligible to obtain required export authorizations under ITAR and EAR regulations.
