Base Salary
$218k - $365k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve architecture for MuleSoft infrastructure and platform services, balancing scalability, availability, security, performance, and cost.
- Lead end-to-end design of complex distributed systems across cloud platforms, Kubernetes, networking, and data stores.
- Serve as a senior technical authority by leading architecture reviews and evaluating cross-organizational technical tradeoffs.
- Develop modernization, high-availability, fault-isolation, disaster-recovery, and reduced-blast-radius strategies for globally distributed systems.
- Identify architectural bottlenecks and systemic risks and produce architecture documentation, reference architectures, and technical standards.
- Partner with engineering, product, security, and SRE teams while mentoring senior technical talent.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing and building large-scale software, cloud, or infrastructure systems, including architectural or senior technical leadership across multiple engineering teams.
- Deep expertise with public cloud platforms, particularly AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Amazon EKS.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, API architectures, networking, DNS, load balancing, routing, proxies, and network security.
- Experience designing high-availability, multi-region, and disaster-recovery architectures.
- Clear communication skills for explaining architectural concepts to technical and executive audiences and building consensus.
- Preferred: experience with large-scale SaaS or enterprise cloud platforms, globally distributed multi-tenant systems, and mission-critical services.
- Preferred: familiarity with CI/CD and software delivery platforms, Git-based workflows, and Jenkins.
- Preferred: relevant cloud, Kubernetes, security, or architecture certifications.

- Base salary range is listed as $218,400-$365,200 annually, with a higher range in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area locations; bonus, equity, and benefits may also apply.
