Base Salary
$160k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect efficient, secure, reliable, and performant ML pipelines and infrastructure.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, data-centric backend infrastructure for the product.
- Translate internally developed and community LLM research into production systems.
- Work with large-scale structured and unstructured clinical data in a cloud-based environment.
- Develop methods and observability tooling to detect model drift, performance degradation, and other production quality issues.
- Build scalable model development and deployment pipelines and support testing and experimentation.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and error handling for deployed systems.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to improve healthcare products and ML capabilities.
- Help cultivate the company’s ML engineering and product culture.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building ML-native backend infrastructure.
- At least 5 years of backend and cloud platform software development experience, with flexibility to work across the stack.
- Fluency in one or more backend languages including Python, Golang, Rust, or Java; the team uses Python.
- Familiarity with modern ML and LLM techniques and frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience developing end-to-end ML systems covering design, training, inference, deployment, and monitoring; LLM experience is a bonus.
- Experience building and maintaining performant, scalable, data-centric enterprise software products.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability, teamwork, and interest in applying AI/ML to healthcare.
