Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and run alternative payment method microservices and components.
- Build adapters and connectors for non-card payment providers and integrate provider APIs, webhooks, polling, and asynchronous messaging.
- Contribute to data models, APIs, SLAs/SLOs, integration patterns, and component-level design.
- Support provider sandboxes, certifications, phased rollouts, and payment launches across regional markets.
- Participate in on-call operations and improve runbooks, alerts, dashboards, documentation, metrics, logs, and traces.
- Collaborate with product, QA, SRE, compliance, and regional teams to meet launch dates.
- Triage and fix bugs, participate in code and design reviews, and reduce technical debt through focused refactoring.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of software engineering experience or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and Docker.
- Strong automated testing experience covering unit, integration, and contract testing; TDD is essential.
- Understanding of distributed systems and integration patterns including idempotency, retries, timeouts, circuit breakers, partitioning, and fault tolerance.
- Experience with CI/CD, release automation, and GitHub-based workflows.
- Fluent written and verbal English communication.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, AWS, OpenShift, Kafka or other messaging systems, payments or fintech, regional payment landscapes, PCI-DSS, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry, feature flags, provider sandboxes, certifications, and staged rollouts.
