Responsibilities
- Refine requirements and write detailed specifications for complex software components.
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot scalable applications and services.
- Collaborate with development teams, architects, product managers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Design and work with complex data models while ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance.
- Resolve technical issues across distributed systems and cloud environments.
- Implement and promote coding standards, code reviews, development processes, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor and train less-experienced software engineers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across architecture, development practices, and engineering processes.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and software development innovations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
- Deep experience designing and maintaining microservices architectures.
- Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
- Advanced knowledge of AWS services including ECS/Fargate, EKS, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture tradeoffs, scalability, performance optimization, and cost management.
- Advanced experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Experience with trunk-based development, automated deployments, and progressive delivery.
- Experience with API Gateway technologies and authentication or authorization frameworks such as OAuth, JWT, Kong, or Keycloak.
- Advanced knowledge of observability and monitoring tools including New Relic, Coralogix, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana.
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development and automated quality gates.
- Working knowledge of event-driven and streaming architectures such as Kafka.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
- Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical specification skills.
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external technology resources.
