Responsibilities
- Build and maintain GitHub Actions CI pipelines with incremental test selection, nightly full builds, and tooling for triaging broken main branches.
- Instrument build and test systems with telemetry and dashboards covering timing by job type, branch, and author.
- Define and enforce merge queue, PR gating, and on-call processes that keep the main branch reliable.
- Own remote build-cache infrastructure, including cache correctness, invalidation, and read-only promotion from main.
- Maintain local build, dependency-management, and developer-environment tooling.
- Maintain dependency mirrors for apt, PyPI, and other upstream registries.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across firmware, robot software, simulation, and cloud.
Requirements
- Solid experience with build systems such as Bazel, CMake, or similar tools.
- Experience designing and operating CI pipelines at scale, including incremental testing, artifact caching, runner management, and short feedback loops.
- Strong understanding of hermetic build environments.
- Ability to debug complex build failures across multiple languages and toolchains.
- Experience managing dependencies and balancing reproducibility, speed, and upstream risk.
- Good developer-experience instincts.
- Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 build tooling, including colcon, ament, and CMake, is a plus.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, self-hosted runners, and ARC is a plus.
- Experience with GitHub Actions at scale is a plus.
- Robotics or embedded-systems experience involving multiple target architectures and deployment environments is a plus.
