Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and high- and low-level design of data protection and data management services and frameworks.
- Design and implement secure, resilient, and highly scalable microservices using Python or Golang.
- Build storage and data services that manage data and metadata at petabyte scale.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and tools to improve existing platforms and product capabilities.
- Drive best practices in system design, observability, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Contribute hands-on to feature delivery, incident handling, performance tuning, and code reviews.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in systems design, data protection principles, and product development.
- Collaborate with architects, product managers, DevOps, and peer engineering teams.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience building global-scale distributed SaaS applications, preferably in a product company.
- Expertise in Python or Golang for scalable, performant systems.
- Strong experience with cloud-native storage systems, metadata management, or distributed data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with storage, backup, archival, or data protection products is highly desirable.
- Deep knowledge of AWS or Azure and container orchestration with Kubernetes or Docker.
- Experience with event-driven architecture, Kafka or RabbitMQ, and gRPC APIs.
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
- Understanding of system performance, multithreading, and concurrency control.
- Experience with data security frameworks, encryption, key management, or compliance-focused features is desirable.
- Exposure to GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Jenkins is desirable.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience using generative AI tools such as Cursor across software development lifecycle activities is required or expected.
- Candidates should have deep backend systems expertise or experience building platform-level components used by multiple engineering teams.
