Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deploy enhancements to HSBC’s electronic trading platform.
- Build scalable, high-performing capabilities for a global front-office environment.
- Oversee support, production debugging, reliability, and optimization of delivered services.
- Collaborate with software engineers across time zones to deliver changes consistently and quickly.
- Automate engineering and operational workflows to reduce toil and repetitive tasks.
- Apply data-driven techniques to tune performance and improve runtime behavior.
- Strengthen engineering workflows through automation and repeatability.
- Improve platform stability through effective production problem-solving.
Requirements
- Substantial hands-on software engineering experience in low-latency or real-time systems.
- Excellent Java capability, including concurrency, performance tuning, and memory management.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in complex production environments.
- Proficiency with Linux or UNIX command-line tooling.
- Experience delivering in highly automated software development workflows.
- Confidence working with containerized runtime environments.
- Ability to collaborate with engineers across time zones and apply automation to improve team operations.
