Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automation frameworks and test scripts in C#.
- Automate functional and regression testing for Windows desktop applications using UFT and SilkTest.
- Use Silk Central for test management, execution, scheduling, and results reporting.
- Work with UIA, MSAA, and UI automation challenges in legacy desktop applications.
- Design test cases with measurable acceptance criteria for launch time, CPU and memory usage, recognition accuracy, and related quality metrics.
- Drive defects from triage through closure.
- Support performance, stability, long-session, smoke-test, and regression validation activities.
- Use PowerShell or Python for test data, environment setup, and CI integration when applicable.
Requirements
- Strong C# programming experience for building and maintaining automation frameworks and test scripts.
- Hands-on UFT experience automating functional and regression tests for Windows desktop applications.
- Demonstrated SilkTest experience authoring and maintaining automated functional and regression scripts.
- Practical Silk Central experience with test management, execution, scheduling, and results reporting.
- Working knowledge of UIA and MSAA and the fragility of COM and UI automation in legacy desktop applications.
- Ability to design quantified test acceptance criteria and manage defects through closure.
- Comfort working in a large, legacy enterprise Windows codebase with established patterns and constraints.
- Background in speech, audio, NLP, or accessibility products is preferred.
- Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, WebView2, New Outlook, or Copilot integrations is preferred.
- Familiarity with installer-driven release risk, smoke-test gating, regression exit criteria, and performance or long-session desktop validation is preferred.
- Exposure to PowerShell or Python for test data, environment setup, and CI integration is preferred.
