Base Salary
$129k - $177k/yr
Responsibilities
- Execute daily flight testing for regression, acceptance, and validation using flight space of 10+ acres.
- Define and execute comprehensive test plans for software features and releases, including edge-case identification.
- Coordinate QA programs, schedule testing workflows, and document processes to improve testing throughput.
- Enforce bug-reporting standards and support issue triage and resolution across product and engineering teams.
- Manage regression suites across Dock, Android, and iOS platforms and validate end-to-end user workflows.
- Implement AI-assisted automation for test design, regression maintenance, bug triage, and first-pass code resolutions.
- Track quality metrics such as post-release bugs, escalation trends, and testing throughput.
- Maintain device and drone inventory, firmware tracking, Qase test cases, and internal QA environments.
Requirements
- 4+ years of quality engineering or QA experience for hardware, mobile, autonomous, or robotics products.
- Hands-on experience testing Android and iOS applications with Appium, Espresso, Detox, or similar frameworks.
- Ability to write Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar code or scripts for test automation.
- FAA Part 107 Certificate or ability to obtain the certification upon hire.
- Experience using AI tools for test setup, defect analysis, log triage, or code-level bug evaluation.
- Experience managing test suites with Qase and defects with Jira.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience driving cross-functional alignment.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, API testing, embedded firmware, and RTK/PPK workflows.
- Background in robotics, geospatial or autonomous-systems QA, mobile and embedded hardware QA, drone operations, or automated software testing is a potential strong fit.
Benefits
- Base pay is listed at $128,524.00–$176,720.50 annually, with possible equity and bonus eligibility.
- The role is based in Bay Area, California, or Austin, Texas.
- Travel to customer sites and/or field locations 1–2 times per quarter is required for flight tests and real-world workflow validation.
