
Senior/Lead/Principal Software Engineer, Agentforce Operations

Responsibilities
- Own foundational investments and difficult cross-cutting architectural problems across the Super Agent backend.
- Design and implement integrations with Mulesoft, Flow, Salesforce Data Cloud, and Informatica.
- Build scalable data export and ETL/ELT pipelines supporting automated, self-serve customer synchronization.
- Design and build performant customer-facing REST APIs and webhooks, including abstractions over GraphQL functionality.
- Drive technical decisions, project execution, code quality, observability, performance, security, and scalability as a primary individual contributor.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, establish engineering standards, and collaborate with Product Management and other engineering teams.
- Set technical direction for backend architecture, data integration, ETL processes, system performance, and operational efficiency.
- Use AI tools and maintain structured system context to support reliable, secure, production-ready engineering work.
Requirements
- 3+ years of industry experience for Senior, 5+ years for Lead, or 8+ years for Principal backend engineering roles.
- A related technical degree is required.
- Deep expertise in backend engineering areas including data modeling, database performance, state management, API design, transactionality, concurrency, fault tolerance, and scaling.
- Production experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines using ETL/ELT.
- Expert proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or Go.
- Experience designing robust external-facing REST APIs and webhooks, distributed systems, high-availability architectures, event queues, and asynchronous task processing.
- Experience diagnosing architectural problems, setting technical direction, and leading complex projects as an individual contributor.
- Strong written and verbal communication, technical design leadership, ownership, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor, plus advanced prompt engineering and system-context practices.
- Preferred qualifications include a B.S. in Computer Science, an M.S., mastery of Golang, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL, Salesforce integration experience, Kafka or Kinesis, Docker or Kubernetes, workflow engines, supply-chain or manufacturing experience, open-source contributions, patents, published research, or Salesforce platform familiarity.
