Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, high-quality production software and algorithms.
- Build architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure implementation meets design constraints.
- Develop and maintain distributed services, APIs, data stores, and messaging integrations.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets to identify patterns and drive improvements to application code and system architecture.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI coding and automation tools for coding, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating their outputs.
- Improve team effectiveness through code reviews, technical decision-making, mentoring, and reusable engineering practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Strong Python development skills with experience writing well-tested and maintainable code.
- Experience building and maintaining APIs using Django, FastAPI, or similar frameworks.
- Strong system design skills involving distributed services, relational and NoSQL data stores, and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ.
- Practical experience running services in the cloud, including Amazon Web Services patterns and services.
- Understanding of secure software development, continuous integration and delivery, monitoring, alerting, incident response, resiliency, and operational excellence.
- Ability to lead through influence through code reviews, technical decisions, and mentoring.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to evaluate, validate, and refine generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, and resiliency and security expectations.
- Preferred experience with Terraform, CDN and web application firewall providers such as Cloudflare or Akamai, React, regulated environments, and strong risk and security controls.
