Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and ship secure, reliable, and performant C++ features in the Microsoft Edge codebase.
- Drive integrations between Microsoft Edge and Microsoft security, compliance, identity, management, and Microsoft Purview systems.
- Lead initiatives spanning browser components, native code, cloud services, and other Microsoft products while protecting sensitive data and applying secure engineering principles.
- Partner with product managers, security experts, and engineers to translate customer requirements into scalable solutions and improve quality, performance, and reliability.
- Shape technical strategy, mentor engineers through design and code reviews, and promote technical excellence and inclusion.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- Strong production C++ experience designing, implementing, testing, and debugging secure, reliable, and high-performance software.
- Strong knowledge of modern C++, object-oriented design, STL, RAII, memory management, multithreading and concurrency, performance optimization, data structures, algorithms, and debugging.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree and 6+ years of software engineering experience, or a bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of software engineering experience with substantial C++ production development.
- Experience with large-scale, cross-platform software systems, ideally involving browsers, operating systems, enterprise security, DLP, identity, or AI-powered product integrations.
