Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance Kubernetes platform capabilities across BT private cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain platform automation using Infrastructure as Code and software engineering best practices.
- Implement deployment, upgrade, and lifecycle-management processes for Kubernetes clusters and supporting services.
- Integrate networking, monitoring, logging, security, storage, and certificate-management capabilities into the Kubernetes platform.
- Support platform reliability through proactive improvement, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and problem management.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, contribute to proof-of-concept activities, and transition new platform capabilities into production.
- Drive continuous improvement of BT’s Kubernetes managed service.
Requirements
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating Kubernetes platforms in production environments.
- Experience operating platforms in private cloud or on-premises environments.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and/or Ansible.
- Strong networking fundamentals.
- Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and automation practices.
- Experience with OpenStack or VMware is desirable.
- Experience with Rancher, RKE2, or Cluster API-based Kubernetes lifecycle management is desirable.
- Experience with bare-metal provisioning and infrastructure lifecycle management is desirable.
- Scripting and automation experience with Python or Golang is desirable.
- Knowledge of enterprise storage platforms and Kubernetes CSI integrations is desirable.
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault, PKI, and certificate management is desirable.
- Understanding of Telco Cloud technologies, including SR-IOV, Multus, and DPDK, is desirable.
