Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision for core system components and align implementation with Procore’s service-oriented architecture.
- Lead the team’s agentic AI software development lifecycle practices for building, testing, and deploying intelligent systems.
- Evolve codebase architecture across multiple domain boundaries and define clear system interfaces.
- Design and implement scalable, resilient, performant systems across Procore’s platform.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence, coding standards, and resource efficiency.
- Partner with Engineering leadership, Product Management, and UX to turn complex business problems into technical roadmaps and solutions.
- Represent the team’s technical strategy in cross-organizational discussions and communicate tradeoffs to technical and non-technical executives.
- Lead major cross-functional technical projects from inception through production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or comparable practical work experience.
- 8+ years of experience with object-oriented programming fundamentals, test-driven development, and software design principles.
- Demonstrated expertise building, deploying, and monitoring AI/ML systems, including the agentic AI software development lifecycle.
- Deep expertise with full-stack modern applications using React, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience defining and driving software design and architecture decisions in service-oriented architecture environments.
- Extensive modern web development experience across development, testing, staging, deployment, and monitoring.
- Extensive experience with Docker, AWS, and microservice environments, including performance tuning and cost optimization.
- Proven ability to lead major technical projects, document complex solutions, and secure buy-in across multiple teams.
- Strong understanding of tradeoffs among technical, analytical, performance, and product goals.
