Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end data extraction workflows across complex websites and deliver complete, accurate structured datasets.
- Use custom workflows and available tools to accelerate data collection, validation, and task execution.
- Extract reliably from dynamic and interactive web sources, including JavaScript-rendered content, while adapting to changing site behavior.
- Apply data-quality checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting requirements, and systematic verification before delivery.
- Scale scraping operations through batching or parallelization, monitor failures, and maintain stability against site changes.
- Handle anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.
- Perform data cleaning, normalization, and validation for structured outputs.
Requirements
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.
- Strong Python web-scraping experience with BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar tools, including dynamic content and APIs via proxies.
- Ability to extract data from complex hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML structures.
- Experience delivering structured datasets in CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent and containerization with Docker.
- Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar for automation tasks.
- English proficiency at Upper-intermediate (B2) level or above.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field is a plus.
- A GitHub link is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, independent troubleshooting, and self-directed work skills.
Benefits
- Freelance, part-time opportunity with remote work from Italy.
- Estimated workload of approximately 10–20 hours per week during active project phases; workload is not guaranteed and applies only while the project is active.
- Compensation of up to $40 per hour equivalent, depending on contribution level and pace.
