Responsibilities
- Architect, design, build, deploy, and maintain model-serving infrastructure for the Detection Engine.
- Scale model-serving and data-processing services to handle 10 times current traffic.
- Build real-time and near-real-time streaming pipelines and online feature-serving services.
- Build and improve the ML training platform to increase ML Engineering velocity and product precision and recall.
- Support feature serving at 50K+ QPS, offline/online equivalency, and large batch jobs for data gathering and model training.
- Collaborate with ML Engineering, Data Science, product, and other cross-functional teams to execute technical strategy.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers through one-on-ones, pair programming, code reviews, and design reviews.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role, including hands-on ML-engineering-focused solutions.
- Experience maintaining large-scale distributed systems on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience maintaining high-scale real-time and near-real-time data pipelines or streaming services.
- Familiarity with machine learning workflows and requirements, including feature development and serving, offline/online equivalency, large batch jobs, and training tree and deep-learning models.
- Experience with streaming data architectures and real-time processing.
- Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks related to data engineering and data privacy.
- Ability to collaborate with data scientists, machine learning engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders and translate requirements into actionable technical tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
