Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services integrating RIVR’s platform with customer systems.
- Develop and enhance backend infrastructure for the robot operations platform.
- Build backend components that aggregate KPIs and provide platform and business-value insights.
- Contribute to backend architecture, reliability, and scalability in a containerized microservices environment.
- Collaborate with frontend, robotics, and infrastructure engineers on end-to-end features.
- Participate in on-call rotations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience designing, building, deploying, and operating backend systems in a Service-Oriented Architecture context.
- Strong experience with TypeScript, Java, C++, and/or Python.
- Experience with interaction patterns such as RPC, publish/subscribe, and event-driven systems.
- Experience with at least two database technologies.
- Experience integrating complex third-party APIs and building reliable distributed workflows, or building event-driven applications and scalable data processing pipelines.
- Preferred: familiarity configuring and operating CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred: background in robotics, IoT, fleet management, or real-time data streaming systems.
- Preferred: familiarity with observability tools and standards such as OTLP, Grafana, and Prometheus, particularly for devices with intermittent connectivity.
