Responsibilities
- Make key technical decisions for AI in HR, including agent connections to HR, recruiting, and payroll platforms, data storage, and autonomous actions.
- Build and operate production AI agents and applications using AWS, LLM APIs, and internal AI platforms.
- Write production code weekly and establish engineering standards through code review, testing, CI/CD, and observability.
- Create evaluation layers with test sets, evaluations, and production monitoring to validate agent behavior and catch regressions.
- Design access control, audit trails, data residency, human sign-off workflows, and compliance capabilities for sensitive HR data.
- Translate HR priorities into feasible technical plans, including sizing initiatives and making build-versus-buy decisions.
Requirements
- Experience building and running production systems with real users while continuing to ship code hands-on.
- Experience owning significant technical decisions and their consequences.
- Production experience with LLM-based applications or agents, including retrieval, tool calling, context design, evaluations, and guardrails.
- Daily experience using Claude Code or similar coding agents, with emphasis on reviewable, tested, and secure generated code.
- Experience with APIs, event-driven integrations, and complex enterprise data models.
- Experience handling personal or regulated data, including access control, auditability, and data minimization.
- Ability to write technical decision documents that engineers and HR stakeholders can act on.
- HR or people-data experience is helpful but not required.
