Base Salary
$223k - $325k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement production-ready Agent SDK capabilities and reference implementations.
- Build specialized agents and reusable components while improving reliability, observability, and evaluation quality.
- Translate agentic and generative AI techniques into scalable platform features for enterprise teams.
- Design evaluations covering agent quality, robustness, latency, and cost trade-offs.
- Develop and optimize model-serving and workflow patterns, including retrieval-augmented generation and tool-using agents.
- Partner with product, engineering, data, platform, and application stakeholders to align capabilities with success metrics.
- Drive technical decisions, clarify ambiguity, evaluate trade-offs, and produce recommendations and designs.
- Improve platform performance and efficiency through profiling, bottleneck analysis, and system-level optimization.
- Establish practical engineering standards for reliable and responsible AI systems.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in applied artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts.
- 10+ years of applied experience and hands-on experience building large-scale machine learning systems and platform services used by multiple teams.
- Strong software engineering skills with end-to-end ownership from design through implementation, testing, and operation.
- Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Hands-on experience designing agentic and generative AI systems, including tool use, planning, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation methods.
- Strong experience with cloud and Kubernetes ecosystems and production workloads.
- Experience with high-performance machine learning systems and hardware acceleration considerations such as GPU optimization.
- Ability to influence across teams without formal authority through technical leadership, communication, and execution.
- Preferred: contributions to open-source machine learning frameworks or platform tooling.
- Preferred: Kubernetes deployment automation such as Helm or Kubernetes extensions such as operators.
- Preferred: experience with JAX, scikit-learn, or additional machine learning ecosystem tools.
- Preferred: advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Preferred: experience establishing engineering standards for responsible and reliable AI systems, including testing and measurement practices.
