Base Salary
$260k - $326k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior engineering leadership to translate business priorities into long-term technical strategy.
- Identify technology investments that improve scalability, reliability, security, and developer productivity.
- Develop reusable architectural patterns, reference implementations, engineering guidance, and best practices.
- Guide teams through architectural tradeoffs and facilitate technical design discussions for high-impact initiatives.
- Coach and mentor Principal, Staff, Senior, and emerging technical leaders across the organization.
- Lead architecture workshops, technical learning sessions, and engineering forums.
- Capture institutional knowledge through documentation, playbooks, architecture patterns, and reference materials.
- Identify recurring engineering challenges and create scalable solutions that benefit multiple engineering domains.
- Improve onboarding, knowledge transfer, and continuous technical learning across Engineering.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, mentoring, and influence-through-credibility skills.
- Technical expertise across the full stack, including the ability to guide front-end, back-end, and infrastructure teams.
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating services at large scale.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leaders.
- Hands-on engineering experience, including coding, validating designs, investigating difficult problems, and contributing to critical initiatives.
- Ability to balance long-term architectural direction with pragmatic delivery and evaluate tradeoffs across scalability, reliability, security, performance, cost, complexity, and time to market.
- Experience defining architecture principles, patterns, and best practices across multiple teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
