Responsibilities
- Design and implement components of a regional observability data lake supporting logs, metrics, traces, and events.
- Build and integrate services that improve developer tooling, reliability, usability, and operational experience.
- Automate and simplify software delivery and operational workflows, including infrastructure and delivery integrations.
- Partner with product owners and stakeholders to refine requirements, deliver iteratively, and conduct demos and acceptance discussions.
- Troubleshoot complex service dependencies and participate in cross-functional problem-solving.
- Design for resiliency, supportability, and observability across application and infrastructure layers.
- Contribute to architecture and design reviews and share engineering best practices.
- Apply engineering standards, development standards, and corporate security guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant industry experience in software engineering and cloud systems.
- Strong hands-on experience building and operating distributed services in cloud environments.
- Working knowledge of observability concepts and tools for logging, metrics, and tracing.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure, including identity and access controls, integration patterns, and automation.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads; managed Kubernetes experience is beneficial.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and CI/CD tooling such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in Java, C#, or a similar programming language.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS experience, Splunk or comparable monitoring and logging platforms, cloud-based developer tooling, standardized SDLC platforms, and multi-region resiliency, disaster recovery, locality, and data residency considerations.
- Ability to take ownership, communicate clearly, collaborate across teams, mentor engineers, and apply security and reliability principles.
