Base Salary
$200k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend features for dashboards and data visualization tools.
- Improve and maintain the performance, scalability, and availability of distributed systems and query processing engines.
- Lead technical scoping and design reviews and resolve architectural bottlenecks in workflow systems.
- Partner with Frontend, Logs, and APM engineering teams on end-to-end platform experiences.
- Translate customer needs into roadmap items and executable engineering plans with Product Managers.
- Own delivery from requirements and design through coding, testing, and production observability.
- Lead medium-to-large technical projects and mentor earlier-career engineers while remaining hands-on.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in Go or demonstrated expertise in another high-performance systems programming language.
- Experience designing and building user-facing features for distributed, production-scale architectures.
- Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems principles.
- Ability to translate complex and ambiguous customer requirements into reliable, maintainable software.
- Experience with backend APIs and services for dashboarding, reporting, or data visualization platforms is preferred.
- Comfort collaborating across the backend/frontend boundary and influencing frontend engineering decisions is preferred.
- Familiarity with query languages, data processing systems, or large-scale observability platforms is preferred.
- Experience leading technical projects and mentoring earlier-career engineers is preferred.
