Responsibilities
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and estimation.
- Design and develop reliable, scalable cloud-native services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Implement service-to-service communication with gRPC and RESTful APIs, including distributed and event-driven systems.
- Build automated tests and incorporate quality, security, observability, and operational readiness into development.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineers to translate business and technical requirements into product capabilities.
- Build and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code technologies.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production services, support incident resolution, perform root-cause analysis, and improve system reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, technical discussions, and engineering decisions.
- Improve engineering practices, CI/CD workflows, development processes, and team productivity.
- Use AI-assisted development tools for code generation, automated reviews, test generation, debugging, and productivity while validating quality, security, performance, maintainability, and coverage.
- Learn new technologies and share engineering practices across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience building production-grade applications with Java.
- Strong proficiency in Java, object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing microservices with gRPC and RESTful APIs, including Protocol Buffers and service contract design.
- Experience with AWS services such as SQS, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, and Lambda, or comparable services.
- Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code technologies.
- Understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and scalable cloud application architectures.
- Experience with software design patterns, clean-code principles, automated unit, integration, and service-level testing.
- Experience using Git and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding and software development tools in day-to-day engineering workflows.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience includes Guice, large-scale SaaS applications, Apache Flink or other stream-processing technologies, event-driven architectures, high-throughput gRPC services, observability, BlazeMeter or similar performance-testing tools, shell scripting, shared platform services, secure cloud development, IAM, and highly available resilient services.
