Base Salary
$129k - $209k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build foundational frontend systems, components, tools, and patterns used by engineers across Braze.
- Lead large projects end-to-end, including technical design, implementation, testing, rollout, and operational follow-through.
- Improve the developer experience of working in a large TypeScript and React codebase through better abstractions, tooling, documentation, and examples.
- Build customer-facing product experiences that are polished, accessible, performant, and consistent with Braze’s product standards.
- Partner with product engineers, designers, and infrastructure teams to solve cross-cutting frontend problems.
- Mentor other engineers through code review, pairing, technical guidance, and clear communication.
Requirements
- Have 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of technical impact.
- Are highly skilled in modern frontend development, especially TypeScript and React.
- Have experience building reusable frontend systems, components, tools, or infrastructure.
- Care deeply about user experience, accessibility, performance, and maintainability.
- Are comfortable working in a large frontend codebase with many stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly, collaborate well across teams, and help raise the technical bar for those around you.
- Bonus experience includes building design systems, frontend testing frameworks, and familiarity with Ruby on Rails.
