Base Salary
$129k - $209k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build foundational frontend systems, components, tools, and patterns used across Braze
- Lead large projects end-to-end through technical design, implementation, testing, rollout, and operational follow-through
- Improve developer experience in the large TypeScript and React codebase through abstractions, tooling, documentation, and examples
- Build polished, accessible, performant, and consistent customer-facing product experiences
- Partner with product engineers, designers, and infrastructure teams on cross-cutting frontend problems
- Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, technical guidance, and clear communication
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience with a strong record of technical impact
- Strong modern frontend development skills, especially TypeScript and React
- Experience building reusable frontend systems, components, tools, or infrastructure
- Care for user experience, accessibility, performance, and maintainability
- Comfort working in a large frontend codebase with many stakeholders
- Clear communication, cross-team collaboration, and a demonstrated ability to raise technical standards
- Preferred experience with design systems or component libraries
- Preferred experience with Cypress or Jest
- Preferred experience with code generation, linting, codemods, or other developer tooling
- Preferred experience with internationalization, localization, or accessibility
- Preferred experience with Ruby on Rails
