Base Salary
$226k - $282k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the long-term architectural vision and technical strategy for core platform systems
- Lead the design and evolution of large-scale distributed systems powering the data movement platform
- Drive high-impact initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams
- Establish best practices for system design, code quality, and operational excellence
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and influence technical decisions beyond the immediate team
- Lead efforts to improve platform performance, reliability, scalability, and cost
- Evaluate and introduce technologies and approaches that improve developer experience and platform capabilities
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems
- Proven ability to design and evolve complex, scalable, and reliable platform architectures
- Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives and influencing engineering direction
- Strong backend development skills, with Java preferred, plus solid data structures and systems fundamentals
- Experience optimizing performance, scalability, reliability, and cost in high-throughput systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Track record of driving ambiguous, high-impact problems from definition through execution
- Bonus: experience with ETL or ELT, cloud-based platforms, and startup environments
