Base Salary

$188k - $251k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Optimize Gradle/Bazel configurations and Java build graphs to improve cache hit rates, parallelism, resource utilization, and build and test times.
  • Identify and eliminate flaky tests and unstable CI infrastructure to improve build signal quality.
  • Build pipeline automations that generate FedRAMP and other audit artifacts, including change logs, approvals, and control evidence.
  • Instrument CI/CD and release workflows with metrics and dashboards covering latency, reliability, cost, and failure modes.
  • Develop structured, traceable logs and build outputs, clear APIs, automated policy guardrails, and machine-friendly failure signals for future agentic workflows.
  • Own release infrastructure as code using Terraform and Helm, including runners, clusters, queues, controllers, and supporting services.
  • Manage configuration drift, health, scaling, and safe repeatable deployments across pre-production and production environments.
  • Design blue/green, canary, feature-flag-driven, and ephemeral PR or feature-scoped environments for isolated validation.
  • Participate in on-call for critical release and platform incidents and improve runbooks, automation, and post-incident practices.
  • Lead complex projects end to end, mentor engineers on CI/CD and infrastructure as code, review designs and code, and collaborate with Product, Security, SRE, and AI/Agentic DevEx teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on Release, DevOps, or Platform Engineering in cloud-based systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Java or a similar statically typed language and scripting experience with Python and/or Bash.
  • Hands-on experience with Gradle, Bazel, or Maven at scale across large codebases, many modules, and complex dependency graphs.
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, using Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Experience operating and improving CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Harness, or GitLab CI.
  • Strong data structures, algorithms, and system design fundamentals, with familiarity with distributed systems and networking concepts.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills plus demonstrated experience leading multi-developer efforts.
  • U.S. employment visa sponsorship is not available, and federal contract requirements may limit hiring to U.S. citizens.
  • Preferred qualifications include Open Policy Agent, policy-as-code, regulated-environment experience such as FedRAMP, HIPAA, or SOC 2, AI coding assistant experience, Bazel or multi-language monorepo experience, and open-source or public speaking and writing contributions related to CI/CD, release, infrastructure as code, or developer productivity.
