Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain video signalling protocols and server components for scalable real-time video calls.
- Collaborate with distributed cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, low-latency media experiences.
- Ensure secure transmission and compliance with privacy and industry standards.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and code reviews while mentoring junior engineers as needed.
- Diagnose signalling and media operational issues and improve troubleshooting processes and tools.
- Build tools and analytics for call quality and debugging, including log analysis and packet traces.
- Participate in ticket backlog refinement, work estimation, and Agile ceremonies.
- Support video services as part of on-call duties.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with Java.
- Experience with complex distributed systems or real-time systems.
- Experience working with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous software development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to support video services through on-call duties.
- Proficiency in C++, Rust, or equivalent languages is desired.
- Experience with Rust, WebRTC, or GStreamer is a bonus.
