Base Salary
$85k - $193k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write, configure, and deploy Go and JavaScript code that improves service reliability and establish code-quality standards.
- Operate and optimize Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, including performance, cost, scalability, and resource planning.
- Implement and manage monitoring application backends using Go, Postgres, and OpenTelemetry.
- Develop Terraform and other infrastructure-as-code tooling for platform visibility and proactive issue detection.
- Lead debugging, troubleshooting, architecture analysis, code reviews, and production-change reviews.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments.
- Create documentation, runbooks, playbooks, design analyses, postmortems, and preventative measures.
- Automate operational work including on-call monitoring, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
- Apply security best practices, support compliance, and participate in security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Develop, test, maintain, and exercise disaster recovery plans and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience as an SRE, Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar professional.
- Programming proficiency in Go and scripting languages, with knowledge of software development best practices.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools, especially OpenTelemetry and Dynatrace or comparable tools.
- Cloud-services experience, with a strong preference for Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with relational and document databases.
- Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
