Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end data infrastructure that ingests, transforms, and serves financial datasets reliably from conception through production.
- Architect scalable and cost-effective data processing pipelines handling millions of documents and datapoints daily with low latency and high throughput.
- Build integrations connecting market data vendors, proprietary sources, and third-party providers into coherent, queryable platforms.
- Partner with the Core AI team to structure, clean, and serve financial data for models and retrieval systems.
- Build secure and compliant customer-data integrations with strong privacy, trust, and reliability standards.
- Lead by example through high-quality code, technical decisions, and engineering practices that elevate the team.
- Foster a culture of learning, craft, and ownership through daily collaboration and example.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building complex, data-intensive backend systems.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with GCP or an equivalent cloud stack building and scaling production-grade services.
- Deep Python expertise for backend and API systems, plus proficiency in Rust, C++, or Java; Java is a strong plus.
- Mastery of large-scale distributed systems, including asynchronous patterns, streaming, queuing, caching, logging, metrics, and tracing.
- Strong command of relational databases and SQL, including schema design, query optimization, and indexing, alongside NoSQL, Redis, BigQuery, Snowflake, and Redshift.
- Experience building and operating reliable, high-throughput streaming and batch data pipelines integrating heterogeneous financial data sources.
- 3+ years of experience managing or working closely with globally distributed engineering teams.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence engineering direction across teams without direct authority.
- Track record of shipping high-quality products autonomously in unstructured, fast-moving environments.
- Demonstrated passion for corporate finance, capital markets, and financial data, with a strong commitment to data quality.
