Dell Technologies9 hours ago
Base Salary
$172k - $237k/yr
Responsibilities
- Run proofs of concept and pilots of autonomous software-engineering agents and agent platforms on representative real-world engineering tasks.
- Build realistic task suites, benchmarks, evaluation harnesses, and metrics for agent quality, autonomy, reliability, speed, cost, and security.
- Verify agent output through automated tests, mutation testing, static and security analysis, acceptance-criteria checks, and human review.
- Integrate agents with source control, CI/CD, issue tracking, specifications, and quality gates through APIs, MCP, and custom tools.
- Implement guardrails, sandboxing, observability, tracing, replay, and feedback loops to increase agent autonomy safely.
- Spend 70% or more of the time building and experimenting with AI agents as part of the daily engineering workflow.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Production experience building core autonomous agent platform components such as execution loops, planning and task decomposition, tool-calling or MCP layers, or memory and context management.
- Production experience operating long-running autonomous agents with sandbox environments, state checkpointing and resumption, failure recovery, loop and drift detection, and token or cost budgets.
- Deep experience with context engineering for software agents on large codebases, including code indexing and retrieval, repository maps, and context compaction with measurable task-success improvements.
- Experience with evaluation-driven agent development, including benchmarks, evaluation suites, metric-based behavior iteration, and automated verification.
- Experience deploying, extending, or integrating commercial or open-source autonomous agent platforms in enterprise environments, including custom agents, SDK or MCP extensions, and self-hosted or private deployments.
- Preferred experience with multi-agent systems, durable execution engines, published agent benchmarks, or contributions to open-source agent frameworks.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience, is desirable.
