Responsibilities
- Design systems, develop proof of concepts, and provide technical leadership on engineering projects.
- Build backend services, APIs, data routing and processing systems, and automation mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain backend services and web application infrastructure for the 9fin platform.
- Lead project teams as an individual contributor, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
- Research and experiment with new technologies and contribute input to new features and products.
- Improve the codebase through automation, refactoring, documentation, and maintainable implementation.
- Collaborate with Product, clients, and cross-functional financial, legal, and editorial teams.
- Explain complex technical projects to non-technical audiences and support productive team progress.
Requirements
- Experience with Python and web frameworks, particularly Flask and FastAPI, with typing in Python.
- Strong experience delivering APIs and working with service-oriented architecture.
- Good working knowledge of SQL statements for retrieving data.
- Ability to plan and reason about software within broader systems and business needs.
- Ability to understand data flows from persistent storage through API endpoints.
- Ability to write testable, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with engineering and cross-functional colleagues.
