Responsibilities
- Define and implement comprehensive test strategies using appropriate testing tools and techniques.
- Collaborate with BSAs and developers to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, identify gaps, and determine testing scope.
- Plan and execute systems integration, regression, exploratory, manual, functional, end-to-end, smoke, API, and non-functional testing.
- Create and maintain automated tests, test cases, test data, and automated data-testing scenarios.
- Test software across web service, user interface, file, and database layers and verify system outputs.
- Work with development teams on unit, integration, and user-journey test coverage.
- Review team testing outputs, maintain quality standards, and facilitate knowledge transfer to other testers.
- Demonstrate completed functionality to product owners and during team showcases and provide input into estimates.
- Identify high-risk areas, communicate test results to management, and drive resolution of testing issues.
- Establish collaborative relationships across development, business analysis, project management, and subject-matter-expert teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
- Five or more years of experience in a technical QA/testing role.
- Proven experience testing software development in a structured environment and managing the defect lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of test levels from unit testing through user acceptance testing and cohesive test-strategy development.
- Experience with test frameworks and scripting automated functional tests.
- Sound technical understanding of application servers, databases, web services, and basic programming constructs.
- Good experience with API and microservices testing.
- Experience working with user stories and defining clear acceptance criteria.
- Experience with functional, end-to-end, regression, and smoke testing.
- Ability to work in a changing environment, identify requirements gaps, forecast risks, and improve team processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- AWS experience is preferred.
- Experience creating test cases using GitHub Copilot is preferred.
- Accessibility and security testing experience is considered an added value.
