Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, enhance, and sustain software applications and systems.
- Troubleshoot bugs and medium-complexity issues in major software applications and operate independently with minimal oversight.
- Create engineering specifications, document software requirements, and select appropriate development methodologies.
- Lead design reviews and influence technical approaches, project delivery, and solutions.
- Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
- Communicate project plans, designs, and status updates to stakeholders and build internal and external partnerships.
- Support and comply with Abbott’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Work nights and/or weekends as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Engineering, or a high school diploma/GED plus four years of relevant experience.
- Complete knowledge of software development design and development, relevant domain skills, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with RESTful web services, relational databases including Postgres and SQL Server, and ORM technologies including JPA2, Hibernate, and Entity Framework.
- Experience designing and developing applications using cloud-based frameworks such as Azure and Amazon AWS Services/SDKs.
- Experience with C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, PL/SQL, .NET, and Google Web Toolkit.
- Experience with Agile development tools including JIRA and Confluence.
- Preferred: five or more years of software engineering experience.
- Preferred: experience with Java, Spring Boot or Spring, microservices, Maven, Kafka or other queuing systems, and healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
