Responsibilities
- Shape the technical direction and architecture strategy for Agoda’s Tax technology ecosystem.
- Own the architecture of mission-critical platforms, focusing on scalability and security.
- Design end-to-end solutions across internal systems and third-party platforms.
- Work hands-on with engineering teams on system design and implementation trade-offs.
- Lead architectural reviews and provide expert guidance on system design and reliability.
- Translate complex tax rules into clear technical models for engineering teams.
- Analyze the current Tax technology landscape and identify modernization opportunities.
- Establish architecture principles and governance practices to improve quality.
- Drive improvements in quality, velocity, and developer productivity across Tax systems.
- Mentor and influence senior engineers and technical leads.
- Communicate complex technical trade-offs to stakeholders across various domains.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering or technology leadership roles.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with tax-related technology projects.
- Strong understanding of Tax technology domains such as VAT, GST, and compliance workflows.
- Proven ability to shape technical strategy and architecture roadmaps.
- Strong hands-on engineering background with deep understanding of system design.
- Ability to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into technical models.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to mentor and influence senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Strong ownership mindset with a track record of improving engineering quality.
